Quasi-consistency and Caching with Broadcast Disks

چکیده
Among the concurrency control techniques proposed for transactional clients in broadcast environments, BCC-TI [6] has been demonstrated to have better performance than a simple adaptation of optimistic concurrency control with forward validation. Our work adapts BCC-TI to enforce quasi-consistency [3], and introduces caching. Through simulation experiments, we demonstrate the workload characteristics for which our techniques achieve good performance.

A Selective Push Algorithm for Cooperative Cache Consistency Maintenance over MANETs
Cooperative caching is an important technique to support efficient data dissemination and sharing in Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs). In order to ensure valid data access, the cache consistency must be maintained properly. Many existing cache consistency maintenance algorithms are stateless, in which the data source node is unaware of the cache status at each caching node. Even though stateless...

Parallel and distributed systems archi tectures support parallel I O components Caching has been applied to distributed I O subsystems as a standard solution to the problems of fastening data accessibility and increasing data reliability Cache consistency mechanisms have been implemented in order to in uence the cache usefulness in a posi tive way This paper presents a new caching tech nique ba...
متن کاملMHD Flow and Heat Transfer Analysis of Micropolar Fluid through a Porous Medium between Two Stretchable Disks Using Quasi-Linearization Method
In this paper, a comprehensive numerical study is presented for studying the MHD flow and heat transfer characteristics of non-Newtonian micropolar fluid through a porous medium between two stretchable porous disks. The system of governing equations is converted into coupled nonlinear ordinary ones through a similarity transformation, which is then solved using Quasi-linearization ...
متن کاملPrioritized Transaction Management for Mobile Computing Systems
In mobile computing environment, many mobile clients are concurrently accessing the database residing at the server, in the form of reads and writes. The broadcast-based data dissemination, in mobile computing systems, poses new challenging issues on data consistency of mobile transaction processing due to frequent disconnection from the network. Although data broadcast has been shown to be an ...
متن کاملPrefetching from Broadcast Disks
Broadcast Disks have been proposed as a means to efficiently deliver data to clients in “asymmetric” environments where the available bandwidth from the server to the clients greatly exceeds the bandwidth in the opposite direction. A previous study investigated the use of cost-based caching to improve performance when clients access the broadcast in a demand-driven manner [AAF95]. Such demand-d...
